GNM Course Overview

The Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) was introduced in the year 2004-05 at Tumkur with a focus on delivering high-quality professional nursing education. This program is designed to develop skilled and competent nurses through a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have completed their 10+2 education with English as a core subject, securing a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination.
  • Subjects Considered for Admission: Candidates must have passed in any four subjects including English (three subjects + English) from the following list:
    • Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English, Commerce, Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Computer Science/Informatics Practice/Word Processing/Multimedia, History, Geography, Civics, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Home Science.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of the month of admission.
